Thriving in a global Industry

Havok, the Irish company which is the leading provider of interactive software and services to the global game and movie industries, was founded in 1998 by engineers in Trinity College.

Havok technology has featured in over 250 games and has also been used to drive special effects in hit movies such as ‘Watchmen’, the James Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’, ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’, ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory’.

Dublin BIC provided incubation space and advice to Havok during its start-up period and since then the company has grown into a successful global business, which recently won an Emmy award for its work on pioneering physics engines which make games more realistic than ever before.  In 2007, Havok was acquired by Intel but continues to operate independently. Havok employs over 100 people across four continents.
