The European Business and Innovation Centres (BICs) are regionally and locally based organizations involved in identification, selection and specialist support for new and existing enterprises. BICs typically operate as public-private partnerships, combining both Government funding via Enterprise Ireland and private cash or inkind contributions. In Ireland, Exchequer support is provided by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment under the NDP Productive Sector Operational Programme 2007-2013, and is managed by Enterprise Ireland.
BICs concentrate on supporting new innovative businesses, which have high growth potential and which can contribute to economic development in their areas.

Dublin BIC is a member of the Association of EC Business and Innovation Centres in Ireland together with Cork BIC, South East BIC and West BIC.
