The European Business and Innovation Centres (BICs) are regionally and locally based organizations involved in identification, selection and specialist support for new and existing enterprises. BICs typically operate as public-private partnerships, combining both Government funding via Enterprise Ireland and private cash or inkind contributions.

In Ireland, Exchequer support is provided by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment under the NDP Productive Sector Operational Programme 2007-2013, and is managed by Enterprise Ireland.

BICs concentrate on supporting new innovative businesses, which have high growth potential and which can contribute to economic development in their areas.
